What is an Aussiedoodle?
The Aussiedoodle, or Aussiepoo, is the bright, brainy cross between two beloved breeds: the Australian Shepherd and the Poodle.
The Aussiedoodle Advantage
Mini Aussiedoodles from Ramirez Family Doodles are a wonderful choice for those who admire the Aussie's personality but are concerned about shedding. This breed combination results in an exceptionally intelligent, loyal, and athletic companion with minimal shedding.
Currently we are breeding F2 Standard Aussiedoodles, F2B Mini Aussiedoodles, F1B Standard Aussiedoodle, F2B Toy Aussiedoodles, F1B Bordoodles, and F1Mini Bossiedoodles (Double-Doodles). Most of our customers prefer a “doodle” that looks more Aussie than Poodle. The ones that have a wavier coat and more facial hair seem to have little to no shedding. But if you have a mild to extreme allergy to dander we recommend our F2b’s. Please consider that each time you breed back to a poodle.. you will have a puppy that looks much more poodle. If you don’t want shedding at all.. consider finding a purebred poodle.
F1- One poodle parent and one Aussie parent
F1B- The pup is 75% poodle and 25% non-poodle.
F2- Both parents are F1 doodles.
F2B- One parent is an F2 doodle and the other is a poodle.
F3- Both parents are F2B doodles.

Size, Character, and Lifestyle Fit
At Ramirez Family Doodles, we offer Aussiedoodles in various sizes to fit your lifestyle. Our Mini Aussiedoodles typically weigh between 20 to 30 pounds and stand 11 to 14 inches tall. We also offer Standard size Aussiedoodles, which are slightly larger at 40 to 45 pounds, and Toys, which weigh between 7 to 10 pounds.
Our Aussiedoodles are known for their high adaptability, social nature, and outgoing personalities. Intelligent and eager to learn, they make hardworking companions. With proper training and socialization, these affectionate, gentle, and sweet dogs become loving and loyal members of your family. While playful and active, they also enjoy being lazy and snuggly indoors. Due to their herding instincts, we recommend assessing your living situation, especially for apartment living.
Grooming and Health Insights
Aussiedoodles from Ramirez Family Doodles have very little undercoat, reducing shedding and making them potentially hypoallergenic. Regular grooming is essential to prevent tangles, especially for those with wavier or curly coats. Just like humans with hair that grows it needs to be brushed daily and maintained by a groomer every few months to reduce matting. Like Poodles, Aussiedoodles require gentle ear cleaning to prevent infections. Trust your neighborhood groomers expertise to guide you in caring for your new family member.
Training Your Aussiedoodle
Both Australian Shepherds and Poodles are very intelligent breeds, making the Aussiedoodle a crossbreed that can be easily trained. Begin training and socialization early, and use kind words and rewards to encourage good behavior. The crossbreed does not perform well under too much pressure or negative reinforcement, so no need to yell or use physical punishment. The Aussiedoodle loves to impress and be helpful, so you can try training is to do useful tricks, such as closing doors and bringing you cleaning tools.
