It totally depends on the puppy, but if you take your puppy out to potty late at night, say around 10 or 11 pm, the puppy should be good until 5 in the morning. We recommend feeding the puppy around your dinner time, as puppies usually will have a BM 20 to 30 minutes after eating. Keeping your puppy on a strict schedule will help everyone! Also, making sure you play with your puppy a lot in the evening will ensure a good night's sleep! Never withhold water, as this can cause serious bladder issues and bladder infections. Some people have great luck with crate training, and some of our customers swear by co-sleeping. Puppies that sleep with you are less stressed and will wake you up when it’s time to go. Whichever way you decide to do it, we definitely recommend sticking to your decision and staying consistent.

What makes ramirez family doodles different from other breeders, especially in terms of how you raise your puppies?

We start potty training from birth! They hear us say "good potty " every single potty. Around 6 weeks, we start to decrease the size of the pee pad area and add in a blanket that we say "no potty" and move them back over to the pee pad area. By the time you bring them home at 8 weeks, they have a strong understanding of good potty, and where that should take place. If you are consistent with this method at home, potty training is a breeze. Remember, these are dogs that are extremely eager to please their parents.

We also start them on sit, and stay before eating at age 6 weeks. It's important they learn patience early on. We give them a release command "puppy, puppy, puppy " so they understand that means EAT! :)
